Post Office Locksmith, located at 130 Gorham Street, Lowell, MA has been serving Greater Lowell, Merrimack Valley and Southern New Hampshire for many years.

Post Office Locksmith was founded and operated by Abraham Jeknavorian in 1923, and after his passing in 1980, his son, Armen and his wife, Sossy took over the operation of the locksmith business.

Presently their son Avo is also working in the operation of the family business.

Prior to Armen becoming involved in the business, Post Office Locksmith was operated by Abraham as a sole proprietorship. Aside from the sales and servicing of locks, key duplication, and rekeying locks, to supplement his income, he also sharpened saws, scissors, and lawnmowers. Furthermore, he sold miscellaneous items such as rakes, shovels and knives. Abraham never had a phone in his shop thus making Post Office Locksmith strictly a walk-in business.

Armen worked with his father during high school summer vacations, but didn’t intend to become a locksmith. Instead, he obtained a position with NCR as a field engineer.

When Abraham fell ill in 1980, Armen went to work with him and learned
how to run the business. He had a phone installed in the small shop. Abraham agreed to having a phone as long as he didn’t have to answer it. In addition, Armen began to provide on site assistance using his own car as a service vehicle.

Abraham passed away 3 months later but with the skills his father taught him and the classes and seminars that Armen attended, the business began to successfully grow.

Today, Armen employs four full-time locksmiths and has three service vehicles on the road that provide commercial, automotive, and residential services to include deadbolt installations, keyless locks, configuring card access systems, and more.

With our convenient walk-in shop with ample parking, located just minutes from the Lowell Connector. we also provide in house locksmith service from key duplication to sales and service of all type of locks and safes.
